Dear naturalhealthworld, please could you tell me the percentage of capsicum active ingredient in this chilli balm as I need a strong one to relieve my post herpatic neuralgia. Many thanks

Natural Health World UK

Hi Jackie - Thank you for getting in touch.

The chilli balm contains 1% capsicum as the active ingredient. As it’s a natural formulation, we aren’t able to make it any stronger — and many customers already find it extremely hot at this level. The effect can vary quite a lot from person to person, depending on individual sensitivity.

Some people find just a small amount produces a strong warming sensation, while others choose to gently enhance the effect with a warm compress — or, with great care, a warm shower. However, we always recommend exercising caution, especially if you're managing a condition like post-herpetic neuralgia. If the heat becomes too intense, a cool compress can help calm things down.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions — and we hope you find some relief soon.

Warm wishes,
Charlotte from the Natural Health World Team

what smell is there with this product

Natural Health World UK

Hi Keith,

Thank you for your interest in our Hot Chilli Balm. Unlike other deep heat alternatives, our balm has a very faint scent, so you won’t experience the strong smell typically associated with similar products.

Please be cautious when applying it—give the balm time to heat up before deciding if you need more. If you need to adjust the intensity, we recommend using a warm or cool water compress to moderate the heat.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
