The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit that verifies products against its own Non-GMO Project Standard, an ongoing testing and traceability process, rather than a one-off check. Honey is genuinely one of the trickier foods to verify this way, since bees can fly several miles from the hive to forage. The standard accounts for that directly: it requires tracking hive locations and confirming, on an annual basis, that there are no GMO crops within the bees' foraging range, alongside supply chain traceability and regular auditing.
