What Makes Wedderspoon's Apple Cider Vinegar Different

Cold-pressed, naturally fermented, and blended with real Manuka honey, Wedderspoon's Apple Cider Vinegar is a genuinely well-made bottle. Here's what goes into it, and what actually sets it apart from a supermarket own-brand.

How it's made

It starts with cold-pressed New Zealand apples, naturally fermented without heat or added chemicals. That gentle process is what allows the Mother, the cloudy strands of acetic acid bacteria and cellulose you'll see settled in the bottle, to survive all the way through to your kitchen. It's a good visible sign you're getting a raw, minimally processed vinegar rather than a stripped-back, filtered one.

The Manuka honey blend

What really sets this one apart is the blend of Wedderspoon's own Manuka and raw Beechwood honey, stirred through the vinegar for a rounder, softer flavour than a plain vinegar gives you. If you've found straight ACV a bit sharp to get down diluted in water, this is a genuinely nicer way to have it. The Manuka honey itself meets New Zealand's official science-based standard for genuine Manuka, a rigorous chemical and DNA test introduced in 2018, so you know exactly what you're getting in that blend.

Simple ways to enjoy it

  • A tablespoon diluted in a glass of water, the honey takes the edge off the sharpness
  • Whisked into a salad dressing in place of a plainer vinegar, for a rounder, less harsh finish
  • A splash in a marinade wherever you'd normally reach for cider vinegar

A quick, honest note: most of vinegar's evidenced effects come from the acetic acid itself, present in any vinegar, rather than from the Mother specifically, and we've covered what the wider research actually says in apple cider vinegar and digestion: separating the evidence from the hype, well worth a read if you're curious about the science. This one's really about the bottle itself: a properly made, traceable, nice-tasting vinegar we're genuinely glad to stock.
